Seeking the Spiritual Gifts

Seeking the Spiritual Gifts

The new believers soon notice that the Lord manifests His presence in the Church though the Holy Spirit, who operates not only through the preaching of God’s Word (the Holy Bible), but also through the spiritual gifts.

They are, then, taught by their pastors regarding the biblical need to seek with zeal the baptism with the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts (I Cor. 14:1), for they are powerful and essential instruments for the edification of the Church (I Cor. 14). “Ask and you will receive” is the biblical principle to be remembered in this search. “…Much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask for it.” (Veja a citação, por favor).

This chapter compiles testimonials regarding how the churches and servants seek and receive the spiritual gifts, so as to serve as encouragement to seeking the gifts in the correct way, that is, praying (including in early dawns and vigils) and fasting with the specific goal of receiving the spiritual gifts for the edification of the church.
